Donald Trump reveals he’s not ready for another debate, says ABC spat with Harris was a ‘rigged deal’

WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump has expressed his disinterest in participating in another debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, citing his dissatisfaction with ABC News’ handling of their recent clash.

The former president believes the debate was unfair and has now indicated his reluctance to engage in future events before Election Day.

Trump criticized ABC News’ fact-checking, which he said was biased in Harris’ favor.

Was the Trump-Harris debate a ‘rigged deal’?

The day after the debate, Donald Trump expressed his frustration in an interview with Fox News, criticizing ABC News’ moderation and fact-checking.

He argued that ABC’s treatment of his statements compared to Harris’s was heavily biased.

“It was three to one. It was a rigged deal, just as I thought,” Mr. Trump told Fox News.

He then accused the media of bias, saying: “A lot of people are very angry about this. You know, you have corrupt news organizations. You have a lot of bad people. It’s unbelievable.”

Towards the end of his speech, he even suggested that the network would have to face the consequences.

“I think ABC took a big hit last night. Quite frankly, they’re a news organization, they should be allowed to do this. They should have their license taken away for the way they did this,” Trump said, according to The Hill.

Will Trump Agree to Another Debate?

Donald Trump has shown little interest in a rematch after Harris’ campaign said Vice President Kamala Harris was open to another debate.

“Under the bright lights, the American people were able to see the choice they will face this fall at the ballot box: whether to move forward with Kamala Harris, or move backward with Trump,” Jen O’Malley Dillon said, according to CBS News.

Dillon also said, “That’s what they saw tonight and what they should see in a second debate in October. Vice President Harris is ready for a second debate. Is Donald Trump ready?” she asked.

However, Trump made it clear that he would not be willing to participate if these moderators were involved.

“I’m not inclined to do that because I won the debate by a wide margin,” Trump said.

Donald Trump suggested his performance was strong enough the first time around.

“They lost very badly, the first thing they did was ask for a debate. They always ask for a rematch,” he said, dismissing the need for another event.

Trump also expressed his preference for having more supportive moderators in future debates, mentioning names such as Sean Hannity, Jesse Waters or Laura Ingraham.

“Let’s give some other people a chance. I didn’t think Martha and Bret were good last night,” Trump added, leaving the possibility of another debate dependent on his preferred terms.
