Caitlin Clark Opens Up About ‘Appreciating’ Taylor Swift’s Support for President

As all Americans (should) know by now, a new US presidential election will take place in less than two months.

That was clear during last night’s presidential debate between Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and Republican nominee Donald Trump. While many aspects of the debate made headlines, perhaps the most important message came after the debate ended, when pop music sensation Taylor Swift endorsed Harris in an Instagram post.

Swift said in her post, “I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election. I am voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to champion.”

She also added: “It’s up to you to do your research and make your choice.”

Among the nearly 10 million people who liked Swift’s post was Indiana Fever freshman Caitlin Clark.

Clark’s team, the Fever, will play the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday. And during her pregame press conference, Clark was asked if she liked Swift’s post.

“I have this incredible platform, so I think the biggest thing would be to encourage people to register to vote,” Clark responded to the question, according to Matthew Byrne. “I think for me, this is the second time I’ve been able to vote in an election, so… I think that’s the biggest thing I can do with the platform that I have. It’s the same thing that Taylor did. And I think we need to continue to educate ourselves about the candidates that we have, the policies that they support.”

“I think it’s the most important thing you can do and it’s what I would recommend to every single person who has that opportunity (to vote) in our country,” Clark concluded.

While Clark did not address her party preferences, she sent a clear message: Anyone who is eligible to vote in the upcoming election should definitely do so.
