Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins will be back in action Thursday night when they face the Buffalo Bills in a crucial early-season divisional matchup.

After Hill’s incident with police last weekend and the body camera footage that was released earlier this week, fans might think a protest could take place on the Dolphins’ field. But that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Hill spoke to reporters about the incident Wednesday. He said he wanted the administrative officer fired, but added that the incident wasn’t difficult to separate from what he’s supposed to do on the field.

“Not really, because like I said, I’m not going to mix the two,” the star receiver said. “I’m not going to kneel. I’m not going to ask to defund the police. I’m not going to protest.”

“I’m not going to do that when it comes to playing football, because it’s my therapy. Football is my therapy, it’s how I get away from a lot of things. It’s how I separate myself from past traumas in my life. So no, I’m not going to mix the two.”

Hill admitted he wished he could have done things a little differently during the incident.

Kneeling during the national anthem as a protest against police brutality and racial injustice became a point of contention in the NFL world during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick started the movement.

The protests have largely diminished in recent seasons, although some players have been seen taking part in the action sporadically.
