Ola Electric condemns arson attack at Karnataka showroom | Bengaluru

A customer, Mohammad Nadeem, had purchased an Ola scooter a few days ago but it developed some issues.

Ola Electric on Wednesday condemned the act of arson at its branded store in Kalburgi, Karnataka, by an allegedly disgruntled customer.

The fire damaged six scooters, but no one was injured. Police have taken the suspect into custody and Ola has yet to respond.

“There was an arson attack yesterday at one of our branded stores in Kalaburagi, Karnataka,” the Bengaluru-based company said in a statement on Twitter.

The perpetrator of this violent act has been identified and an FIR has been lodged against the said individual at the police station concerned, he added.

According to sources, a customer, Mohammad Nadeem, had purchased an Ola scooter a few days ago but it developed some issues.

Sources said he was not satisfied with the brand’s store’s response regarding the issues with the scooter.

On Tuesday, he allegedly set fire to the store.

The person involved in the incident has been arrested and an investigation is underway, the company said.

“Following the FIR, we at Ola strongly condemn such illegal acts and will take all necessary legal steps to ensure that appropriate and strict action is taken in this matter and such incidents do not recur,” the company said.
