CSI announces the launch of its new E-sport student club

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The College of Southern Idaho (CSI) is proud to announce the creation of its new student esports club, the Golden Gaming Club. The club aims to foster a vibrant and inclusive community for students who are passionate about competitive gaming.

CSI Student Body Vice President Jesus Berumen expressed his excitement for the club, saying, “Esports is poised to take our campus to the next level! It’s an innovation that offers a new avenue for student engagement, especially for those who may not have fit into traditional school activities. We’re excited to see this program create memories for everyone who participates.”

The Golden Gaming club will be led by experienced esports coach David Palmer. Under Coach Palmer’s guidance, the club will have access to training, mentoring and strategic advice.

“I’m really excited to see this club come together. The passion and talent of these students is inspiring,” said coach David Palmer. “The future of esports at CSI is bright, and this is just the beginning of something that will only grow over time.”

The Golden Gaming Club will host its inaugural event on Friday, September 13 at 5:00 p.m. in the Student Union Building on the CSI Twin Falls campus. The event will feature a Super Smash Bros.™ tournament, providing CSI students with the opportunity to showcase their skills and connect with other gamers.
