Legendary golfer Tiger Woods underwent surgery Friday that he hopes will improve his chances of success on the PGA Tour next season.

Woods announced that he underwent lumbar spine microdecompression surgery to treat nerve compression in his lower back. Woods added that he hopes it will help relieve the back spasms and pain he has been experiencing for most of the 2024 season and that he is preparing to return to normal activities, including golf.
