29th Annual Union Hill Cross Country Meet Honors First Responders | Sports

Union Hill Elementary School proudly hosted its annual cross country meet on September 11, 2024. This year’s event was especially meaningful because it honored the significance of the date, with athletes paying tribute to first responders. A total of 564 athletes from 23 schools in Nevada and Placer counties participated.

Dominic Albano, a Union Hill fourth grade teacher and cross country coach, organized the first meet 29 years ago at Empire Mine. The event later moved to the Union Hill campus where it continued to grow. The meet was supported by a dedicated team including Coach Steve Barney, Claude Dixon, Union Hill PTC and many volunteers who contributed to the success of this incredible day.
