Jake “The Snake” Roberts shocked the world when he appeared in AEW, facing Cody Rhodes on AEW Dynamite on March 4, 2020. Roberts was teamed with Lance Archer, and to this day, when his health allows, he appears alongside the “Murderhawk Monster.”

Looking back on his first AEW appearance during a recent appearance on Rewind Recap Relive, Roberts revealed that he was initially only scheduled to be with the company for six weeks. Then, a month later, he was offered a contract.

“We made a deal for me to stay for six weeks, and after four weeks they gave me papers saying I was going to stay for a year. Then when my one-year contract was up they gave me another two-year contract, and I got another one-year contract. So yeah, I’m still here.”

Roberts initially revealed that he had signed a new deal with AEW in March 2024.
