US Supreme Court may consider Rio-BHP copper mine appeal

Washington | Rio Tinto and BHP’s giant Resolution copper mine in the key election state of Arizona is headed to the U.S. Supreme Court after a religious freedom group representing Native Americans filed a challenge to the miners’ lease.

The mine, in which Australian companies have already invested more than $2 billion ($2.7 billion), would supply America with up to 25 percent of its copper needs.
