Martha Stewart reveals who she’s voting for in rare presidential endorsement

Martha Stewart has finally revealed who she will vote for in November’s presidential election.

Speaking at the Retail Influencer CEO Forum 2024 earlier this week, the TV star said she would vote for Kamala Harris.

Stewart, 83, explained why she supported Harris because she wanted a president “who doesn’t hate New York” and “who doesn’t hate democracy.”

The star has long been critical of Trump, since the two men had competing versions of The Apprentice in 2006.

It was Trump’s version that ultimately won, while Stewart’s suffered from low ratings.

Stewart said she would vote for Kamala Harris because she wants a president “who doesn’t hate New York” and “who doesn’t hate democracy.”

At the time, she suggested that Trump had agreed to be “fired” so that only his version of the show would remain.

“Having two apprentices was as unfair to him as it was to me,” she told CBS News at the time.

Trump disputed her version of events and publicly challenged her in a letter to the press, telling her: “I wish she would be able to take responsibility for her failure.”

In 2016, Stewart threw his support behind Hillary Clinton over Trump, telling CNN at the time: “We simply cannot have a country led by someone who is completely unprepared for what’s coming.”

Nonetheless, Stewart praised Trump in 2016, calling him a “true entrepreneur,” but later retracted his comments after his victory.

Before the 2020 election, she remained silent when Trump attacked Joe Biden, even dodging the question when asked by The New York Times.

“My personal dilemma is this: My friends know who I am and what I stand for, but as the owner of the magazine, how do you take sides when 50% of your readers are on one side and 50% on the other? It’s difficult. This is my answer to that.”

This time, Stewart seems to have no qualms about supporting Harris, even if it means alienating some of her audience, though she remains reluctant to elaborate further on the subject.

“I’m not allowed to talk (about politics). I can’t post anything about politics because, first of all, the eyes of a parent company will come and I’ll get a call right away. I can’t do that,” Stewart said. “You can’t talk about it, so keep quiet,” Stewart said.
