‘What could be simpler than pan-frying a little bit of salmon and serving it with some great new potatoes and seasonal veg?,’ James added.

Earlier last month, the chef stopped ITV’s Saturday Morning to reassure viewers after a ‘shotgun-like’ noise was heard.

The host was joined by chefs Claude Bosi and Jonny Lake on the show as they discussed a viewers classic Tarte Tatin recipe during a question and answer session.

Sitting outside his house, where the series is filmed, the trio discussed the different ways the pastry dish can be altered when they were interrupted.

James began the segment: ‘They are good questions so far. We have got another one. Barbara Rogers, we loved your recipe for Tarte Tatin, it has won awards with the family apparently.”

‘I did a Tarte Tatin masterclass,’ James said while the viewer, Barbara, asked: ‘I want to know is there another fruit you can use in a Tarte Tatin?’

He responded: ‘But it’s not just that you can use vegetables as well. You can use shallots, bits, and pieces like that.’

James agreed before cutting off the conversation to address the sound issue. He reassured viewers: ‘That is not a shotgun by the way, we have got a crow scarer.

‘The farmer has just planted some plants out there, we are going to get a lot of this during the day really. It’s to stop the pigeons going and wrecking his plants as well.’

James returned to TV screens in August after taking a break for the summer.

However things got slightly uncomfortable during the return episode after he had to issue a warning to his guest amidst the culinary chaos.

The TV chef welcomed restaurateur Asma Khan to his ITV kitchen as the pair cooked together.

Yet as cooking began the two chefs seemed to clash a bit as Asma grew worried about her crackling food in a nearby pan.

Trying to reassure her, James interjected: ‘Don’t worry, I’m on it,’ as Asma quickly hit back: ‘I’m not stressing you out. I’m just kind of looking to see what’s going to happen.’

Entertaining the chat, James then asked: ‘Do you want this peeled? ‘ as she replied: ‘No, it doesn’t have to be peeled.’

‘I wouldn’t peel it,’ agreed James as Asma added quipped: ‘No, it’s not worth the hassle and there’s also a limit on how much I can torture you on your own show.’

The return of his Saturday morning cooking show comes after it was revealed James has taken his relationship with new girlfriend Kim Johnson to the next level by enjoying a romantic vacation in France.

The former Saturday Kitchen host, was pictured at bed and breakfast Le Jardin de Rose with personal trainer Kim this week, seven months after he separated from former partner Louise Davies.

James started dating Kim following his split from long-term girlfriend Louise, who he was with for 12 years but never married after admitting getting hitched doesn’t ‘interest’ him in the slightest.

Kim, who’s the ex-wife of millionaire tech entrepreneur Arun Nayar, 59, wore a floral dress as she hugged James during their rustic stay.

Bed and breakfast owners Min and Barry were so overwhelmed by James staying at their establishment, they posted their appreciation on Facebook.

James went public with Kim in March as the couple were pictured shopping together in London’s Mayfair.

A spokesperson for James confirmed to MailOnline that he and TV producer Louise parted ways in December last year.

They had put on the set of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? in 2011 but had decided not to get married during their 12-year relationship.
