Donald Trump Says He ‘Hates’ Taylor Swift After She Endorses Kamala Harris

Donald Trump can’t seem to shake his feelings for Taylor Swift.

On Sunday, September 15, the 78-year-old Republican presidential candidate shared a post on his social media platform Truth Social, where he responded to Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Trump wrote in one message.

Swift, 34, officially endorsed Harris, 59, in the presidential race on Instagram on Tuesday, September 10. The move came shortly after the first debate between Harris and Trump ended.

“Like many of you, I watched tonight’s debate,” the singer wrote in the caption of her post, which included a photo of herself holding a cat. “If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and where these candidates stand on the topics that matter most to you. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about the policies and plans that are being proposed for this country.”

Without commenting on Trump’s policies, Swift went on to write, “I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election. I am voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend.”

She went on to call Harris a “gifted, steady-handed leader” and added, “I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are guided by calm and not chaos.” She also praised Harris’ running mate, Tim Walz, for “defending LGBTQ+ rights, IVF and women’s right to control their own bodies for decades.”

Swift continued, “I did my research and made my choice. It’s up to you to do your research and make your choice. I also want to say, especially to new voters: remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it much easier to vote early. I’ll tell you where to register and where to find early voting dates and information in my post.”

The pop star ended her statement by signing off as a “childless cat lady,” a reference to unfavorable 2021 comments made by Trump’s running mate JD Vance.

Trump responded to Swift’s endorsement the next day in an interview with Fox and his friends.

“I wasn’t a Taylor Swift fan,” he said on the show. “It was just a matter of time. But she’s a very liberal person. She always seems to support a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay the price for that in the marketplace.”

Days later, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) installed a series of witty campaign billboards in New York and Las Vegas with the phrase “This is our era, Kamala” — a reference to Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour.

The billboards use Swift’s hit song “…Ready for It” from her 2017 album Reputation album, with the phrase “A new path forward… Ready for it?” added.

Meanwhile, Trump continues to use Swift’s image for his campaign, as his team recently shared a message on X (formerly Twitter) that read, “Calling all Swifties for Trump,” along with a photo and a link to purchase a Trump-era T-shirt.
