NPA announces floor oil prices for September 16-30, 2024 | General News

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has announced the floor ex-refinery and ex-pump prices for the period September 16 to 30, 2024.

The floor prices, which are the minimum prices at which petroleum products can be sold, are as follows:

– Gasoline: 9.04 GHS per liter (ex-refinery) and 12.31 GHS per liter (ex-pump)
– Diesel: 9.74 GHS per liter (ex-refinery) and 12.99 GHS per liter (ex-pump)
– LPG: 10.97 GHS per kilogram (ex-refinery) and 13.13 GHS per kilogram (ex-pump)
– MGO: 9.74 GHS per liter (ex-refinery) and 10.68 GHS per liter (ex-pump)
– Local kerosene: 9.92 GHS per liter (ex-refinery) and 11.72 GHS per liter (ex-pump)

The NPA has asked Bulk Import, Distribution and Export Companies (BIDECs), Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and LPG Marketing Companies (LPGMCs) to comply with the announced floor prices.

The NPA also announced that the ex-refinery floor prices exclude premiums charged by international oil trading companies (IOTCs) and operating margins of BIDECs.

Similarly, ex-pump floor prices exclude the margins of OMC/LPGMC traders and resellers.

These margins will be determined independently by the companies, as provided for in the price deregulation policy.

Overall, the announcement of floor prices for the period from 16 to 30 September 2024 is a positive development for consumers and companies in the oil sector.

This will help ensure that prices are stable and predictable, while still allowing businesses to make a reasonable profit.
