Jalen Hurts’ emotional message to Jason Kelce ahead of Falcons clash

Jalen Hurts’ emotional message to Jason Kelce ahead of Falcons clash

As part of ESPN’s programming ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles’ home opener, Jason Kelce chatted with Jalen Hurts about their time together over the years. Hurts shared a touching and heartfelt memory about Kelce, according to NFL insider Ari Meirov.

“The only thing I respected about you was that you had a lot of things to do. You had a lot of responsibilities, but you always did it for your neighbor. I love you.”

After the interview, Kelce got carried away by the moment and said he supported Hurts and the Eagles. Realizing his mistake as an interviewer, they shared a laugh.

“Go dominate… I mean, don’t dominate. I’m independent,” Kelce joked.

Hurts laughed, “Yeah, yeah. We know what time it is.”

Jalen Hurts continues to make confusing decisions with the ball, so much so that it’s hard to believe he’s in his fifth season. In Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers, he threw two interceptions and they were ugly. Former Eagles star Chris Long said as much on his Green Light podcast.

“I’m about to give him the medicine, but he did some good things. Jalen Hurts has to play better. You know that, I know that. The interception was so bad in the end zone I had to go to the porch,” Long said. “I was stressed about it, just like you guys at home if you’re an Eagles fan, because there’s this whole, hey, you know you did it, you Philly aggregators, you Philly reporters, I love you all, but you gotta own this one.”

The Eagles will be without AJ Brown on Monday Night Football. Most fans are wondering if Saquon Barkley, who made his Eagles debut last week, can continue scoring touchdowns in Week 2.

Although head coach Nick Sirianni put a stop to the idea of relying too heavily on his star running back after his huge Week 1 game.

“So with Saquon having that much control, we’ll have a plan for that this week in practice to take some of the load off him. Every time you go into a game (every game is so important in the NFL it’s hard to tell), and when he’s got a hot hand like that too, you’ve got to say, ‘Hey, you don’t want to keep giving him the ball.’ You’re trying to win every game you play. It’s our job as coaches to manage that throughout the week in practice. Games take care of themselves as they go.”

Hurts needs to continue to move the ball even without Brown. Having players like Dallas Goedert and Jahan Dotson involved will help the overall offense be more effective.
