20th Annual Harvest Ball – Pope County Tribune

GRHS Auxiliary Set to Celebrate 20 Years of Elegance and Fundraising

Time is running out to buy Harvest Ball tickets!

On Saturday, October 5th, Minnewaska House Brewing Co. + Grill will be infused with all the nostalgia and comfort inspired by a vintage fall atmosphere. Community members are invited to dress up in their finest attire and celebrate 20 years of elegance and fundraising. The delightful evening begins at 5pm, where attendees can socialize, view live and silent auction items, and play our popular raffle games. Raffles include classics like Wine/Beer Walls, Chance Board, and the 50/50 Cash Raffle.

Minnewaska House will be serving a delicious meal of fall favorites: enjoy a mixed green salad with cranberry-pear balsamic vinaigrette, honey butter popover, grilled pork chop, seasoned bread stuffing, mashed potatoes, and roasted vegetables. To round out this festive fall meal, our dessert table will be filled with delicious apple pies and glazed pumpkin bars from Brooten Bakery.

Immediately following dinner, a live auction will be hosted by Zielsdorf Auctioneers. Here are some items we are excited to present to the public:

•Photorealistic drawing of your beloved pet by local artist Shelly Anderson,

•5-course dinner for four with craft beer pairings and a visit from a Minnewaska House brewmaster,

• Yeti cooler offered by Stryhn Construction,

• Pie of the Month Club, courtesy of Auxiliary Members

The silent auction will also feature a plethora of fantastic items, including the elaborate centerpieces used for the event. These decorative items are all one-of-a-kind originals that will make your fall decorating effortless and elegant.

After the raffle and silent auction, the fun continues when the Blues Brother’s Revue takes the stage at 8:30 p.m. With a diverse library of covers spanning multiple genres, there will be a beat for everyone to dance to!

Tickets to the Harvest Ball are $75 per person and each ticket includes a $50 tax-deductible donation. Purchase your tickets at the main entrance of Glacial Ridge Hospital or call Joanna at 320-334-5539. The deadline to purchase tickets is September 20. Reserve a table for 8 or 10. Additionally, Minnewaska House is happy to accommodate special dietary needs; contact Joanna by September 28.

The Glacial Ridge Health System Auxiliary has supported the hospital’s efforts since 1939, when Ann Bickle founded the group. Proceeds from this year’s Harvest Ball will support a $30,000 commitment for a high-tech simulation mannequin, SimMan®, for the emergency department.
