“It will be a powerful addition to the series”

Netflix has revealed the next notorious serial killer for season 3 of the series Monster Which actor will he play alongside?

Monster debuted on Netflix in 2022 and the second season is set to release in just two days (September 19).

However, as excitement builds for the upcoming 10-episode installment, series co-creator Ryan Murphy has revealed what – or more importantly who – will be on the docket for the third season. Prepare to bite your nails in fear as you preview the second season below:

The first season of Monster focuses on serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and the second installment of the anthology series focuses on the Menendez brothers – titled Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez.

And at a promotional event for the second Monster season in Los Angeles, Murphy revealed that serial killer Ed Gein will be the subject of the third season.

Ed Gein – aka “The Butcher of Plainfield” or “The Ghoul of Plainfield” – is a prolific murderer from Wisconsin, USA, whose character has been used in numerous horror films and characters, including Buffalo Bill in THE Ssilence of the lambs, Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock Psycho.

Gein became famous after authorities discovered that he had been digging up corpses in local cemeteries, collecting their skin and bones and making items such as clothing from the remains.

He admitted to killing two women and is suspected of being a serial killer and linked to several other unsolved cases. However, he was found unfit to stand trial and taken to a mental health facility.

At his trial in 1968, he was declared legally insane and taken to a mental institution. He later died of lung cancer in 1984 at the age of 77.

And Monster Co-creator Murphy also revealed who will play the killer.

Actor Charlie Hunnam – best known for his roles in Sons of Anarchy And The Gentleman – should play the role of the prolific grave robber.

And it didn’t take long for Monster Fans are taking to social media to give their thoughts on the Gein-centric third season and the casting choices.

One Twitter user said: “This will be a powerful addition to the series.”

“This will be a great choice, just like that,” added another.

A third commented: “This sounds fascinating! Hunnam should bring a unique depth to the role.”

And a fourth one resolved: “I have to watch this series.”
