Mike Williams, Son of Mo Williams, Announces Commitment to Jackson State Basketball

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A familiar face is set to join NBA champion Mo William’s Jackson State basketball program.

On Sunday, Williams’ son, Mike Williams, announced on Instagram that he had committed to play for his father at JSU.

Mike Williams is ranked as a three-star combo guard by 247Sports and the No. 2 overall high school talent in Mississippi.

He chose Jackson State despite interest from Kentucky and SMU.

Mike, alongside his brother Mason, led Jackson Academy to its first overall title since 2006 with a 70-59 victory over Madison-Ridgeland Academy in the 2024 MAIS boys basketball tournament.

Mike Williams is part of the Tigers’ 2025 recruiting class.
