Apart from Diljit Dosanjh, the legal notice has also been sent to Zomato, HDFC Bank and Saregama Pvt Ltd. However, they are yet to respond to the notice.

Diljit Dosanjh has received a notice from a fan who is disheartened after she failed to secure a ticket for the singer’s upcoming tour of India. As reported by the Free Press Journal, the fan identifies herself as Riddhima Kapoor and is a Delhi-based law student.

According to her information, in her formal notice, she denounces malpractices in the ticket sales process and accuses the organizers of the Dil-Luminati tour of violating consumers’ rights. “Manipulation of ticket prices, unfair business practices and resale of tickets for Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-luminati India Tour,” can be read in the subject of her formal notice.

She claimed that even though the organisers had announced 1 pm on September 12 as the ticket booking time, the passes were made available at 12:59 pm, which allowed several fans to book their tickets within a minute. The fan even claimed that she had specifically obtained an HDFC credit card to avail the discounted passes, but still failed to get a concert ticket.

“This sudden and suspicious transaction strongly suggests manipulation and reselling practices. The sudden unavailability of tickets indicates that your organization may be artificially inflating demand and manipulating prices, which constitutes an unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The practice of reselling and hoarding tickets with the intention of reselling them at inflated prices is a clear violation of consumer rights and an act of bad faith,” the notice added.

Apart from Diljit, the legal notice has also been sent to Zomato, HDFC Bank and Saregama Pvt Ltd. However, they are yet to respond to the notice.

Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati tour will be an epic celebration across 10 cities. It will kick off at Delhi’s iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 26, 2024. After Delhi, the tour will travel to Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Indore, Chandigarh and Guwahati. Tickets for the show went on sale recently but sold out within minutes. For Delhi, there were only two categories of tickets available, starting at Rs 19,999 (Fan Pit) and Gold (Phase 3), priced at Rs 12,999. Both categories were almost sold out immediately.
