Tom Brady sends message to David Beckham after Birmingham win over Wrexham

The Birmingham City co-owner and former American football superstar was on hand alongside England legend David Beckham for their 3-1 win over Wrexham on Monday.

Brady, 47, had traded barbs with Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney on X, formerly known as Twitter, after the club’s official account posted a picture of former NFL rival Eli Manning wearing a Wrexham shirt.

Wrexham striker Jack Marriot opened the scoring for the Welsh side in the third minute with a well-struck finish from a corner, but Birmingham then took the lead.

The former New England Patriot had the last laugh though, as two goals from record £15million signing Jay Stansfield and a well-placed long-range shot from former Celtic midfielder Tomoki Iwata were enough to beat Hollywood-backed Wrexham.

Former England captain Beckham wasn’t the only member of Manchester United’s famous ‘Class of 92’ in attendance, with Gary Neville also in attendance.

Brady owns just 3.3% of Birmingham City and has no voting rights over how the club is run, according to a report from The Athletic.

The American took to Instagram to thank Beckham for joining him and teaching him how to sing at a football match.

Yet he has become the emblem of an ownership group that has overseen the signings of 17 new first-team players during the summer transfer window.

The former Premier League club currently sit second in League One, with four wins and a draw from their opening five games.
