Pennsylvania Pizzeria Among World's Best, Italian Report Says

Italy is a country known for its fabulous cuisine, one of the most famous being arguably pizza.

So if a report from Italy claims your pizza is good, you can be sure they know what they’re talking about.

50 Top Pizza — an Italy-based pizzeria ranking that analyzes pizzas across countries, regions, and the world — has just released its annual “50 Top Pizza World 2024” list.

While the top spot goes to Una Pizza Napoletana in New York, NY, Beddia’s Pizzeria in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, made the list again, coming in at No. 13 overall. It’s the only Pennsylvania restaurant to make it onto the report.

Located in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood, this isn’t Pizzeria Beddia’s first run at positive recognition: As previously reported, 50 Top Pizza has ranked the establishment among the best pizza spots multiple times before, and other publications have followed suit.

Even Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports — himself a huge pizza lover — ranked Pizzeria Beddia himself, giving it a 7.4 out of 10.

Pennsylvania is no stranger to pizza either: A study conducted a few weeks ago claimed that the Keystone State was number one out of 50 in terms of the number of pizzas. Philadelphia also ranked fifth overall among U.S. cities.

The international top 50 of the newest pizzas is completed by Pizzeria Diego Vitagliano in Naples, Italy (second place); I Masanielli – Francesco Martucci in Caserta, Italy (also second place); The Pizza Bar on 38th in Tokyo, Japan (third); Confine in Milan, Italy (fourth); and Napoli on the Road in London, England (fifth).
