Sligo woman set to compete in Miss Universe Ireland final

Alanna O’Boyle (32) from Strandhill will represent Sligo at the Miss Universe Ireland final at the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk on Friday 20th September.

Alanna, a Marketing and Sales graduate, works as Marketing and Events Manager at Diabetes Ireland. She has danced at the World Irish Dancing Championships and is passionate about her charity work with Pieta House.

27 finalists from across Ireland will compete for the coveted Miss Universe Ireland crown this Friday in a spectacular ceremony featuring a special performance by hit Irish band ‘Next in Line’.

Current titleholder Aisha Akorede will crown the winner who will then represent Ireland at the 73rd Miss Universe finals in Mexico City on November 16, following in the footsteps of previous winners Roz Purcell, Joana Copper and current titleholder Aishah Akorede.

The event will feature 90 women from around the world competing for the title of Miss Universe, selected through tests such as personal statements, in-depth interviews, evening gowns and swimsuits. The evening will culminate in the crowning of the 72nd Miss Universe, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, who will crown her successor at the end of the event.
