Kin Series Third Season Seems ‘Less and Less Likely’

Kin Series Third Season Seems ‘Less and Less Likely’

This is no reason to start a war, but it seems that a new series of RTÉ’s crime drama Kin is becoming increasingly unlikely to return.

Despite the show’s renewed popularity after its release on Netflix earlier this summer, items from the old box set are being sold on the sly, so a return doesn’t seem promising.

An insider told The Irish Sun: “Just after filming of the second season of Kin finished, all the props used were put into storage pending the filming of a third season.”

The items were apparently being held in a warehouse by American film company Bron Studios, but after filing for bankruptcy and with no third season on the horizon, the company reportedly decided to open up the storage unit and sell the props.

The source also told the outlet that the items will be sold privately and not at an auction or on a website like many TV shows choose to do.

Although the show has millions of viewers, it’s unclear how well sales will go before the show starts – after all, the Kinsella family wasn’t exactly known for having good taste.

Some of the accessories that are expected to go up for sale are the tacky photos of the house and Amanda and Jimmy’s iconic oversized headboard.

Sources close to the television also told the outlet that the sale of the contents of Kinsella’s home could well be the final nail in the coffin of the hit series Kin.

The insider said: “This is going to make Kin season 3 continuity a nightmare.”

The source explained that people who have been binge-watching the series will be very confused when the Kinsella household returns looking radically different, if it does come back at all.

However, the source added that a third season of the RTÉ show is “looking less and less likely” – not what we wanted to hear this Tuesday!
