WASHINGTON, DC — Authorities are searching for a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting in northeast Washington, DC, Sunday morning.

At approximately 8:25 a.m., officers responded to calls of a shooting in the 400 block of Northeast 50th Street. When they arrived, they found an adult male victim unconscious in an alley, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as 44-year-old James Price, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect was caught on surveillance camera footage, which was made public by the police.

  • Fatal accident in Largo under investigation

    Largo, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving an on-duty PGPD patrol officer and Jeanette Benthall, 85, of Largo.

    The crash happened around 11:20 a.m. on Sept. 9 at the intersection of Campus Way South and Joyceton Drive. Both drivers were taken to hospital, where Benthall succumbed to his injuries five days later. The patrol officer was released from the hospital.

    Investigators are examining the circumstances of the collision. They are working to collect video evidence and interview witnesses.

  • Marlboro Township Man Convicted of Long-Term Sexual and Physical Abuse of Child

    Freehold, NJ – A Marlboro Township man has been convicted of sexually and physically abusing his daughter over a period of more than six years, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced Wednesday.

    Following a trial before Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Christie Bevacqua, Andrey V. Penkin, 51, was found guilty of two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, one count of second-degree aggravated sexual assault and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

    The investigation, conducted by the MCPO Special Victims Bureau and the Marlboro Township Police Department, revealed that the abuse began in 2016 when the family lived in Sayreville. The abuse continued at subsequent residences in East Brunswick and Marlboro. In early 2023, Penkin physically assaulted his daughter after finding her with a pack of cigarettes, causing her serious injuries.

    Penkin was arrested in April. During the trial, the state presented medical records, witness testimony and physical evidence, including the victim’s diary, convincing the jury to return a guilty verdict after 80 minutes of deliberation.
