Swanson Traditional School students celebrate after reaching i-Ready goal

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – WNDU 16 News Now has been talking about some of the negative things happening around Michigan schools, but we want to make sure we show you the positives too!

Today, Swanson Traditional School had reason to celebrate. Students marched through the school to celebrate reaching their i-Ready goal.

According to school administrators, the students showed progress in math and reading, with more than half of the students achieving the expected results.

Swanson School is the only school in Indiana to achieve this goal, and these children were chanting the name of their special friend, Plory, who visited them.

“I gave him a high five. He’s one of those monsters that walks you through and tells you how to do i-Ready,” said a student at Swanson Traditional School.

It was of course also a celebration of all the hard work that teachers and administrators have done over the past year.
