Rams LT Alaric Jackson remains silent on cause of suspension – Orange County Register

LOS ANGELES — Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo returned to practice Wednesday after serving two-game suspensions to start the season.

Before Sunday’s home opener against the San Francisco 49ers, Garoppolo will return to his role as backup quarterback behind Matthew Stafford following his suspension for performance-enhancing drug use during his time with the Las Vegas Raiders. Jackson will return to his starting left tackle role following his suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Like head coach Sean McVay before him, Jackson chose not to reveal the exact violation that led to his suspension as he spoke to reporters Wednesday for the first time since his punishment was handed down by the league office.

“It’s behind us now, I’m keeping it internal for now,” Jackson said. “I’ve been really selfish, but it’s behind me now and we’re going to keep moving forward.”

Jackson said he was made aware of the league’s investigation “some time ago,” but he didn’t provide a timeline of the situation. He said McVay and general manager Les Snead supported him after the suspension and that he understands why the NFL imposed the penalty.
