Andy Murray impresses as Spider-Man Tom Holland and Tommy Fleetwood team up to win Celebrity Pro-Am at BMW PGA Championship | Golf News

Tommy Fleetwood teamed up with Spider-Man star Tom Holland and his two brothers to win the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am after another star-studded appearance at Wentworth.

Hollywood actor Tom Holland has a 2.9 handicap and, alongside his twin brothers Harry and Sam and professional Fleetwood, the quartet posted a winning score of 31 under par.

“I birdied the last two holes to get us over 30. That’s always me,” Fleetwood joked after the match. “I see they (the Holland brothers) are very, very competitive and they’re at a similar level. So I can imagine it’s going to get ugly in a match between them.”

McIlroy, world number three, is the highest-ranked golfer in this year’s tournament and was partnered in the Pro-Am by former Real Madrid and Tottenham star – and scratch golfer – Gareth Bale, as well as former England international Stuart Broad, who is playing to a 6.4. They played their 18-hole round to a score of 24 under par.

Recently retired tennis great Andy Murray made his Pro-Am debut alongside fellow Scot Robert MacIntyre, who said the three-time Grand Slam winner “will be out in no time”.

Andy Murray showed off his golfing skills at the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am at Wentworth, much to the delight of the crowd!

“I was very impressed with his play,” MacIntyre added. “It was like a dream come true for me, a sporting idol… a special, very special day.

“If I achieve half of what he has achieved in his sport then I will have surpassed my goals, to be honest with you. This guy is a sporting idol to many, many Scots.”

Murray, who hit an impressive first shot from the 18th tee, admitted to suffering from nerves and was asked to compare his golf experience to Wimbledon.

“I didn’t really feel my arms and legs anymore,” Murray admitted. “I felt them. But it got better as the round went on.

“It’s a different kind of nervousness, because you’re comfortable in the tennis environment. I don’t think I’m going to step on the tennis court and forget how to hit the ball.

“Here, there are people standing five meters from where I’m driving, and I think to myself: ‘I suck at this game.'”

MacIntyre and Murray’s quartet included James Anderson, England’s leading Test wicket-taker, and Anton du Beke, who had previously partnered Murray’s mother Judy on Strictly Come Dancing.

“He danced from the 18th hole to the 17th green,” MacIntyre joked when asked about his game with the ballroom dancer. “He was full of life. I wasn’t at the beginning.”

Elsewhere, Tony Bellew holed out an incredible first hole. The former world boxing champion was playing alongside Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson, the pair reunited after finishing top two on last year’s edition of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Ben Stokes and his replacement as England captain Ollie Pope, as well as former international cricketer Kevin Pietersen also took part in the Pro-Am, as did Everton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler.

Other notable names from the footballing world included Troy Deeney and Ben Foster in the same group as Pietersen in the afternoon’s line-up.

England Rugby Union captain Jamie George and fellow international Ben Earl also took part, as did former St Helens rugby league star Jon Wilkin, while comedian Michael McIntyre and TV presenter Dan Walker performed together.
