Walmart Announces Holiday Shopping Deals to Begin in October This Year

(Gray News) – Walmart is kicking off the holiday shopping season earlier than ever.

The retailer has announced plans to host a massive sales event starting in October to kick off the holiday shopping season.

According to a company press release, nearly 50% of consumers start their Christmas shopping as early as August and September, which is why the company has decided to delay its Christmas sales until October.

“We know many of our customers are starting to plan for the holidays early, and we’ve adapted our approach to best meet their needs,” said Latriece Watkins, Walmart executive vice president.

The Holiday Deals event is expected to offer discounts of up to 50% on items including TVs, computers, clothing and home goods.

Walmart’s year-end event will run from October 8 to 13, kicking off at noon ET that Tuesday, with Walmart+ members getting access 12 hours early.

“We’ve worked hard to lower prices on our most exciting assortment yet, and we’re excited to give customers more of what they want this holiday season: more time to prepare and more opportunities to save throughout the season,” Watkins said.

Customers are encouraged to check the Walmart app and website for the latest holiday deals. Flash sale items will also be available with discounts of up to 65%.
