INSPIRED TO LEARN Volunteer Opportunities

INSPIRED TO LEARN Volunteer Opportunities

Description

Inspired to Learn was founded in 2022 by Beckett and Phoebe Song to help people with Down syndrome, like their older brother Elliott. Elliott is 18 and thriving in life, thanks in part to the support of wonderful teachers, peers, tutors, and role models. Volunteers are matched with a child with Down syndrome and meet weekly at a time that works for them. The child’s family specifies whether the child needs to work on academic skills, conversational skills, or a combination of both. Some children simply want an online mentor to practice social skills.

Inspired to Learn is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization (EIN: 93-3812930). Thanks to the overwhelming interest of local high school and middle school volunteers, we now offer online mentoring and tutoring throughout the United States. In addition to providing online mentoring and tutoring, we host educational workshops, art classes, and other activities in the California Bay Area.

The organization is proud to announce that it is a certifying organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Volunteers now have the privilege of earning this award by volunteering at Inspired to Learn. Eligibility criteria and award levels are outlined on the PVSA website.
