Mike McCarthy, Dallas Cowboys players ready to rally in Week 3

The best NFL teams overcome adversity. For the Dallas Cowboys, a challenge awaits them starting in Week 3.

After a disappointing 44-19 loss to the New Orleans Saints in their home opener last Sunday, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy met with his players to discuss the team’s performance. Despite the setback, the Cowboys are confident there is no panic in the locker room.

“We can’t let one week carry over into the next,” goalie Zach Martin said. “We have to move on and focus on the next challenge.”

Cornerback Jourdan Lewis echoed Martin’s sentiments, saying the team is determined to learn from its mistakes and bounce back.

“We want to make sure we have everything under control and see what we did wrong,” Lewis said. “You can’t have those two extremes.”

Special teams ace CJ Goodwin stressed the importance of open communication and respect among teammates.

“Everyone’s opinion is valued,” Goodwin said. “It’s open. We respect other people’s opinions.”

Martin also stressed the need to maintain a positive mindset and avoid letting outside noise affect team morale.

“There’s a lot that’s said and written every week, so the important thing is not to let that spill over into the locker room.”

The Cowboys will now focus on improving their performance and getting back to winning ways. Lewis stressed the importance of consistent progress and avoiding fluctuations in the game.

“We don’t want it to be a roller coaster,” Lewis said. “We wanted a gradual progression. And I feel like we’ve gone backwards.”

Dallas will be looking to overcome early season adversity. A win against the Baltimore Ravens and their two-time MVP quarterback will undoubtedly help the team move in the right direction.
