Scarlett Johansson drew inspiration from her young daughter to play her latest film role.

The actress voices Elita-1 in the new animated feature Transformers One, and her eldest daughter, ten-year-old Rose, played a vital role in the process.

“If there’s a particular film my daughter likes, a Disney film or something, I’ll watch recordings of it,” the 39-year-old told The Daily Telegraph this week.

“I remember when my daughter started watching movies and Sing came out – I play Ash in Sing – I had to explain to her how it worked, like how the characters are animated,” the American actress continued.

“I thought there were actors like me who went there and lent their voices, and then we started watching.

“I thought maybe she would like to see the process. It’s absolutely fascinating.”

She also shares son Cosmo, three, with comedian husband Colin Jost, whom she married in 2020.

Colin recently opened up about his family life with his wife and how he got his first lessons in fatherhood from watching Scarlett with his daughter Rose.

It came after the Saturday Night Live star began dating her movie star mother in 2017, when the little one was just two years old.

And while dating the Hollywood leading lady, the actress was able to witness her mothering skills for five years before the arrival of their own son Cosmo.

“I think one of the reasons I fell in love with her is because she’s a great mother,” Jost, 42, said recently. The New York Times.

“I’ve known my stepdaughter, Rose, since she was two years old. It’s weird. You get to see someone in real life as a mom.”

Johansson first met Jost when she hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time in 2006, several years before she married her first husband Ryan Reynolds, but they didn’t start dating until more than a decade later.

Johansson would marry Reynolds less than two years after she first met Jost on the set of SNL.

Her first marriage to the other celebrity ended in divorce in 2011, but she apparently found love again the following year when she began dating Rose’s father, a French journalist and art dealer, after meeting him through friends in Paris, France.

They went public with their romance in November 2012, then made their relationship legal by getting married in Philipsburg, Montana, in October 2014, about a month after welcoming their daughter Rose into the world.

While splitting their time between New York and Paris, the couple would eventually separate in mid-2016 and finalize their divorce in September 2017.

That opened the door for Jost and Johansson to reunite, 11 years after they first met, and spark more romantic talk in May 2017, when the actress made a special appearance on the season finale of SNL.

After the show, the two shared a warm hug on stage during the customary goodnights and then headed to the afterparty where they were reportedly seen kissing, according to Page six.

The comedian would eventually reveal their romance later that same year, making their debut as a couple at the American Museum of Natural History gala in New York City in November 2017.

They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in front of their immediate family and loved ones amid the COVID-19 pandemic in October 2020.

It didn’t take long for them to expand their blended family with the birth of their first child together, a son named Cosmo in August 2021.

During the same interview, the longtime Weekend Update co-anchor Michael Che couldn’t resist sharing “how much his wives like to do normal things,” often with the aid of nothing more than a disguise.

“She goes to the supermarket. She knows how to wear a hat very well and she never stops moving,” exclaimed the proud husband.

“She’s able to be a little bit discreet, but she’s able to do all these everyday things and enjoy them too.”
