CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota has announced that her husband of nearly 23 years has died after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer.

“Very sad personal news to share,” she began a heartbreaking Instagram caption Friday, alongside a photo of the couple on their wedding day.

The journalist revealed that her “beloved” and “extraordinary” husband Tim Lewis lost his two-year battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on July 27 at the age of 58.

“I can’t imagine any human being who could overcome a devastating diagnosis with more humor, humility and courage than Tim,” she continued. “He was a phenomenal father, husband, friend and role model and the rest of us are trying to follow in his footsteps.”

Camerota, also 58, wrote that she and the couple’s three teenage children were “still finding their feet” after the loss.

“Tim has instilled a lot of strength and stability in us and we are determined to try to emulate those qualities,” the political commentator added.

She announced that the family had set up a fund in her memory to help families going through similar challenges. At the time of publication, they had received more than $16,000.

“This month should have been our 23rd wedding anniversary,” she continued. “I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to experience such a deep, committed and loving partnership throughout this time.”

She concluded by thanking everyone for their “love and letters and trays of lasagna and many, many acts of kindness” and announced that she would be back at work in the coming weeks.

“I am grateful. ❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote.

“The sun is shining…we are smiling and surviving,” she captioned a photo with her children earlier this summer.

In August, Camerota alluded to her loss with a photo of herself with two of her children.

“The sun is shining…we are smiling and surviving,” she captioned the photo.

Lewis, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, has worked in private equity and corporate advisory. He most recently worked at Southfield Capital, where he was a partner for nearly 10 years.

Camerota, meanwhile, worked at Fox News for years before joining CNN in 2014.
