Pitt announces starting lineup for game against Youngstown State

PITTSBURGH — It’s largely the same lineup that beat West Virginia last weekend, but Pitt made some changes offensively and defensively.

The offense, which has five starting receivers, replaced Ryan Jacoby with Jason Collier Jr. at left guard. Jacoby was benched in the fourth quarter of the game against WVU and played well once inserted into the lineup.

Pitt also traded Javon McIntyre for P.J. O’Brien Jr. in the starting five, but all three safeties (and even Cruce Brookins) are expected to see plenty of time against Youngstown State. The young defensive backs could even get in the game if the contest gets out of hand in the second half.

And Nahki Johnson returned to the starting lineup next to Nick James at defensive tackle, which has been a fairly consistent rotation through the first three weeks of the season.

Otherwise, the Panthers will continue as usual, hoping to defeat the Penguins and earn a perfect non-conference game for the first time in program history.
