West Virginia announces start time for game against Kansas after weather delay

Saturday afternoon match between West Virginia And Kansas The game is scheduled to resume at 4:44 p.m. ET, the Mountaineers announced. The game was stopped at 2:48 p.m. ET after lightning was spotted less than 8 miles from Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown.

Now that things are clear, it appears we are getting closer to the conclusion of the game. There are 10 minutes and 43 seconds left in the fourth quarter and the Jayhawks are clinging to a 21-7 lead.

This game marks the start of the Big 12 season for both schools, both of whom could use a win after starting the season with a 1-2 record. This game looks set to be a close call as we look forward to an exciting end to the season.

This is the second time this season that a WVU home game has been delayed due to weather, after the opener against Penn State was also interrupted due to lightning. That delay lasted more than two hours, and this one lasted just under two hours.

Kansas trailed 14-7 at halftime, but scored a touchdown on its first drive of the second half to tie the game. Jalón Daniels find Luke Grimm on a seven-yard score that was the QB’s first TD of the game.

WVU then kicked a field goal on the next drive to take a 17-14 lead. However, Kansas wasn’t done there as they responded with another touchdown to take their first lead of the game. Daniel Hishaw I ran that one 11 yards.

The Jayhawks have had plenty of success on the ground so far with 197 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Mountaineers have already committed two turnovers.

They will have to limit their mistakes if they hope to come back once play resumes after the weather-related interruption of the West Virginia-Kansas game.
