Ministry announces launch of Qatar database on WIPO global platform

Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has announced the launch of the State of Qatar’s trademark databases on the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) Global Trademark Database platform.

In a statement, the ministry said interested parties can now access the database through the World Trademark Database (wipo.int) to search for trademarks before registering them and get an overview of trademarks of interest to the public and private sectors.

This achievement follows Qatar’s accession to the Madrid Protocol on the International Registration of Marks, which aims to provide global legal protection for trademarks. It represents an important step for Qatari businesses and entrepreneurs in protecting their brands and intellectual property internationally.

This initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to strengthen intellectual property protection and ensure transparency in government procedures, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 aimed at building a robust, diversified and investment-friendly economy.
