‘Towards a Life of Adventure’: Julie Tan Announces New Romance, Entertainment News

Julie Tan has found a new love.

The local actress turned 32 yesterday (September 22) and to celebrate, content creator Douglas Tan uploaded a short compilation of them hanging out together in a joint Instagram post.

“It was that smile. The first time I saw it, I knew I wanted to see it for the rest of my life. Happy birthday my love! Here’s to life and many adventures ahead,” Douglas wrote in the caption of the post, with Julie commenting, “Here’s to a lifetime of adventures.”

Other local celebrities showed their support in the comments section, with actress Jayley Woo giving Douglas a light-hearted warning: “You better keep making her smile.”

Julie also posted an Instagram story yesterday of a huge bouquet of roses, tagging Douglas and writing: “There are little surprises every day. One of my birthday wishes this year is to always be as happy as I am now. It’s wonderful to have you.”

She most recently starred alongside Tosh Zhang in the anthology film Good Goodbye, which is a three-part interconnected story about death, dying and palliative care in Singapore. The film was released in April this year.

In November 2023, when AsiaOne spoke with Julie ahead of the film’s release, she opened up about some of the difficult times she went through.

“I feel like my life since last November and my life this year are (completely) different – it’s like my life just split up. I thought by then I would have been proposed to and married,” she said at the time.

“But no, that didn’t happen, and I went through a roller coaster of pain and suffering and betrayal. And to finally get through it, walk away and choose myself — that whole journey has been crazy, and to come out of it and still be strong and unscathed in any way, shape or form, I’m so grateful in every way.”
