Lithium-ion battery fire: Mother, child suffer burns after cell phone charger catches fire in Upper West Side apartment

UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) — A mother and her child were rushed to hospital after a lithium-ion cell phone charger caught fire in their Manhattan apartment.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at West 60th Street and West End Ave on the Upper West Side.

It is not clear how severe the burns are.
