Everything Raiders QB Minshew said after embarrassing loss to Panthers

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — No matter how you describe the Las Vegas Raiders’ (1-2) 36-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers (1-2), you’re simply being unfair if the word embarrassing isn’t part of the description.

The Panthers, considered one of the most mismanaged franchises in professional sports, replaced quarterback Bryce Young with veteran Andy Dalton. Despite his considerable success in the Silver and Black, the Raiders should have won this game.

The team looked disorganized and overwhelmed at times, and a talented Raiders team was outplayed by both coaches and players.

The Raiders’ feared defense had no answer, making Andy Dalton and the Panthers’ offense look like the 2007 New England Patriots led by Tom Brady, and the Silver and Black’s offense, or lack thereof, made the Panthers look like the 1985 Chicago Bears.

Yes, this loss was really terrible.

In my five years covering this team, I have never seen a Raiders team this bad as a whole.

QB Gardner Minshew addressed the loss in his post-game press conference. You can watch it in full below:

With one of the best home crowds for Raider Nation in Allegiant Stadium history, I attended every game, the atmosphere that coach Antonio Pierce had called for was squandered, and their energy quickly turned to a chorus of boos, reigning from the seats, as the Panthers dominated.

On a day that should have ended with a celebration of success as the Raiders exercised the demons of playing at their opponent’s level, the home team found themselves wallowing in mediocrity.

There are fourteen games left, but the Raiders don’t have time to fix the problems.
