Ismael Schiefer reflects on his last visit to the Tennessee Volunteers

The Tennessee Vols were looking to get a head start by welcoming highly recruited 2028 prospect Ismael Schiefer to campus out of Grayson High School in Georgia. The talented 6-foot-4, 225-pound freshman has offers from Tennessee, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.

He met Tennessee on SI after his visit to Knoxville as the Vols took on the Kent State Golden Flashes in their home opener.

“The visit was outstanding! It exceeded my expectations. Sometimes you have to say it twice for the people in the back. “Rocky Top is the best game day experience in the country,” the talented recruit said and confirmed when she confidently spoke to Tennessee on SI.

“I saw my dog, Sidney Walton (2025 Tennessee defensive end commit) from Moody, AL, who’s his big brother, he’s already committed, so it was great to catch up with him.”

He also had a chance to talk to some coaches, including defensive coordinator Tim Banks. “I had a chance to talk to coach (Rodney) Garner, coach (Robert) Ayres, coach (William) Inge and coach (Tim) Banks. Those are my guys. It’s always a great conversation when I get to meet them.

The Grayson freshman football player confirmed to Tennessee on SI that he will be back for multiple games this year, including two of the most anticipated home games of the season. “I’ll be back for the Florida and Bama games, looking forward to #GBO.”

Schiefer already appears to be an early favorite for one of the top priorities in the 2028 class.
