How to find all 3 endings in Silent Hill 2 Tribute Hollowbody

How to find all 3 endings in Silent Hill 2 Tribute Hollowbody

Hollowbody is a survival horror game that sends you on a frantic race across what remains of 22nd century England, 60 years after a terrorist attack infected its west coast with an unknown biological agent. As smuggler Mica Holloway, you have less than 20 hours to reunite with your partner Sasha and escape the quarantine zone around the United Kingdom. Otherwise, your fake security credentials will expire and you’ll be gunned down by the defense grid before you can make it home. That would be a tough enough task, and then the undead monsters start showing up.

Hollowbody features three unique endings to its story. Naturally, this can’t help but involve spoilersWe will try to keep them as gentle as possible.

Only two of Hollowbody’s three endings are available on a replay of the game, and both are tied to a mandatory conversation at the end of its first area.

When you reach the top floor of the building, Mica comes face to face with a suicidal human survivor.

The fate of this survivor, the Stranger, is the main starting point of Hollowbody’s story. Depending on your conversation with him, he will either jump off the roof or choose to accompany you. This determines which of the two conventional endings available you will receive.

If the stranger dies

If he dies, you’re locked up for the Meeting end and the success of the same name. However, there is also an exclusive success on this path.

Once you’ve found the fuse pack in the Star Supermarket, retrace your steps back to the building. While this may seem impossible at first due to a blocked tunnel in the sewers beneath the church, you can check the passage near the ladder to find a new alternate route. Keep looking around and you should end up in the drainage area near the church exit.

Back at the building, use one of the fuses on the fallen security shutter. This will lift it and allow you to return to the rest of the building. This will allow you to, among other things, return to the parking lot through your initial entry point into the storage room.

The stranger’s corpse is against the wall of the building. Search his body to retrieve the exclusive Record of Events memo.

At the time of writing this is not necessary for the Logomaniac achievement, which is obtained by finding all other memos in the game. However, it unlocks the secret achievement Living with Ghosts.

If the stranger lives

If he survives, that puts you on track to get the Torn end and the realization of the same name.

It can be difficult to convince the stranger to come down from the ledge. He’ll definitely jump if you choose to answer Tax’s radio call instead of continuing the conversation, but that’s not the only trigger. The key seems to be to show him sympathy, instead of trying to change the subject or shake him for information.

We have found that the following choices in this conversation will allow the stranger to survive:

  • “Excuse me…”

  • “Bad things don’t always make you a bad person.”

  • “Do you live here?”

  • “I’m looking for someone…”

  • (Ignore the radio)

Be careful during this sequence and don’t skip any dialogue. It can be easy to kill the alien by accidentally selecting the first dialogue option in a menu.

If the stranger turns away from the ledge and sits down, he is out of danger for the moment.

The Stranger will now follow you for most of the rest of Hollowbody. Luckily, enemies don’t seem to notice him, he doesn’t take friendly fire, and despite his injuries, he moves just as fast as you do. Just play through the rest of the game as you normally would and you’ll get Riven’s ending.

The Secret Ending

When you complete Hollowbody on Casual or Planned difficulty, you unlock a new setting: Punished.

In Punished, Mica takes much more damage, to the point where she can only take two or three hits from standard enemies before dying.

Killed enemies won’t stay dead unless you burn their bodies with Mica’s lighter or flamethrower. There are relatively few other changes, but you have much less room to make mistakes.

If you manage to complete the Punishment difficulty level using three or fewer Restorative Sprays, including the one you pick up from the ambulance at the start of the game, you will receive a new ending. This unlocks the secret achievement Framewhich also serves as a nod to a recurring gag from the Silent Hill series.

It may be helpful to do a “trial run” at Punished before trying WoofYour reward for completing the game on Punished is a new melee weapon, the Scissor Blade, which can be a big help.

You also don’t have to worry about any other factors besides the amount of damage you took, so save them as much as you wantAs long as you’ve healed Mica three times or less by the time you defeat the final boss, you’re on track for Woof.

Hollowbody’s solo developer has hinted that he may not be done with the game, but for now, this is how you can get all three endings and their associated achievements.
