Captain Sandy’s Wedding Features Several Below Deck Alums

On the Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 finale, which aired Monday, September 23, Sandy, 59, proposed to Leah, 50, as the contract was coming to an end. The epilogue took place eight months after their engagement and wedding, which featured several familiar faces.

Chef Dave Whitewho appeared in season 7 of Under the Med Bridgewas seen cooking up a storm in the kitchen. The chef is cooking up a storm Kate Chastain And Aesha Scott were also invited as guests and fans even got a glimpse of Standard aka the person in charge of crew placement on the yacht who Sandy texted when she needed new crew members.

At their wedding on a boat, Sandy and Leah were moved as they read their vows in front of everyone.

“Leah baby, on November 17, 2018 we held each other for the first time and that’s when I knew it was you,” Sandy said while Leah added, “Whether we’re one day old or a hundred years old, I’m so grateful to be living a love I never thought I would.”

The episode ended with guests – including Kate, 41, and Aesha – giving speeches to the happy couple.

“Thank you so much for having me. I’m so happy to celebrate what is truly a celebration of love,” Kate exclaimed. “You give love to everyone you meet.”

Meanwhile, in her speech, Aesha reminded Sandy and Leah to “cherish” their “pure and beautiful” love. Sandy reflected on the festivities in a confessional, saying, “Whether it’s on land or on a boat, I’m going to spend the rest of my life loving Leah.”

Sandy and Leah met in 2018 and dated for several years before getting engaged on-screen. Prior to her romance with Sandy, Leah was married to artist Ross Shafer for 20 years. They welcomed daughter Lauren before their split, who was seen at the wedding.

Earlier this year, Sandy opened up about how she chose who to invite to her big day.

“We only had a capacity of 60 people. So with our family and close friends, it was hard to invite the people we really wanted to see from Bravo,” she exclusively told Us Weekly. We Weekly So in May, we met people who have been in our lives since the beginning. Because they saw me, (when) I was single when I started the show. Then, everyone knows when I met Leah because that’s all I talked about.

Sandy wanted to find a way to bring the executive producer on board Nadine Rajabi and current vice president of production for Bravo Josh Brownadding: “(We had) Nadine there (to referee) and Josh Brown and just people who have been a part of my life through NBC. We really wanted people to be there (like) Kate Chastain (even though) we’re not in each other’s lives on a day-to-day basis. And then Aesha Scott, of course.”

Before their big day, Sandy and Leah even received a gift from Bravo’s executive producer. Andy Cohen.

“He was very generous, he sent us a very generous gift. He really wanted to come. He said, ‘Yes, send me the invitation,’” Sandy said. “It would have been great to have him there, but it was really sweet – his message and his gift.”

Leah said Andy was “very supportive” and Sandy added: “He responds to Leah’s messages. It’s really sweet.”
