Viral: Fruit vendor caught on camera urinating near handcart sparks public anger

PTC Web Office: A video that went viral sparked public anger after it showed a fruit vendor in Dombivli, Thane, Maharashtra, urinating in a plastic bag placed on his handcart before continuing to sell fruits without washing his hands. The local police have registered a case against the vendor following the outrage.

The footage shows the vendor, identified as 20-year-old Ali Khan, committing the act and resuming his business without taking any hygiene measures. Khan operates his fruit stall in Lodha area of Nilje village in Dombivli.

The video deeply shocked locals, who vented their anger by vandalising Khan’s fruit cart soon after the video surfaced online. A mob gathered outside his stall, destroying his stock and physically assaulting him in a fit of rage. The incident caught the attention of the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), which has since demanded stricter action against unauthorised hawkers in the area.

Police arrested Khan and started investigating the case.
