Lady Gaga Announces ‘Joker 2’ Companion Album ‘Harlequin’ — and Confirms It’s Only the LG 6.5, Not the 7

The album is mainly composed of covers in keeping with the jukebox musical style of the film.

Lady Gaga news alert! After a week of confusing fans with cryptic social media posts and billboards, it’s all leading up to Harlequinthe singer’s companion album Joker: Madness for Two.

Following on from the Joker’s (Joaquin Phoenix) impassioned (and vaguely sinister) doodles, Gaga played her role as Lee (a version of Harley Quinn) to promote the new album. In a series of Instagram posts that read, among other things, “I’m ready for my interview,” “Don’t tell me what to wear,” “No duct tape. No mission,” fans got a taste of Lee’s personality.

And don’t worry, Gaga’s original music is on the way. In a cheeky billboard, she dubbed Harlequin as “6.5”, with the LG7 still slated to arrive early next year.

Todd Phillips’ 2019 Joker The adaptation was praised for bringing a darker, nihilistic side to the iconic supervillain. In his long-awaited sequel, which hits theaters October 4, the director took another risk by not only changing the standard portrayal of Harley Quinn to a more sophisticated one, but he also made Madness for Twoa musical comedy.

A look at the tracklist gives a glimpse of some of the songs that will feature in the film, including the traditional black spiritual “Oh, When the Saints,” “World On a String” which could be a Frank Sinatra cover, “If My Friends Could See Me Now” by Sweet Charity, and the Carpenters classic “Close to You.”

Gaga recently made a surprise appearance at a premiere of the film and wanted to return the favor by throwing popcorn into the crowd. Unfortunately, her all-black outfit didn’t allow her to carry the bulky bags.

“Enjoy the fucking show!” she told the audience. It’s hard not to when Gaga is throwing a bag of popcorn at your head.
