An exciting prospect for United fans…

Manchester United youngster Sekou Kone could be quickly integrated into the Manchester United first team after signing this summer from Malian club Guidars FC.

Kone first came to prominence for Mali at last year’s Under-17 World Cup, where his These performances have been called the “second coming of Yaya Touré.”

The teenager made the most interceptions (48) during the tournament and won the most defensive duels (47). A compilation of his performances quickly went viral on social media.

Kone’s performances sparked major transfer rumours as he was linked with a number of clubs, including Liverpool and RB Salzburg, before eventually signing at Old Trafford.

United were initially hoping the 18-year-old would become a long-term first-team player after he was placed in the Under-21s upon his arrival in order to adjust to life in England.

However, the Malian teenager could be set to get senior minutes much sooner than expected.

GiveMeSport have reported that Kone could be given a quick shot at making his senior debut after already impressing Erik ten Hag’s staff at Carrington.

The source also claims that Manchester United could offer Kone his professional debut in one of the cup competitions this season, including the Carabao Cup.

United have already opened their Carabao Cup campaign after a 7-0 home win over League One side Barnsley as Ten Hag looks to reclaim the trophy he won in 2023.

While their cup performance certainly had the X-factor you’d expect from a United side, it’s been a far from perfect start to their Premier League campaign as they sit 11th in the table.

After a 1-0 win over Fulham in the opening week, United failed to capitalise on their perfect start to the season with back-to-back defeats to Brighton and Liverpool.

Since then, United have remained unbeaten, but a masterclass from former United player Dean Henderson at Selhurst Park would have ensured their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace looked more like two points dropped than one gained.
