Connolly Cup winners for week 3 of high school football

Here are the Connolly Cup/ADPRO Sports Week 3 High School Football Players of the Week, as selected by the selection committee:

Mathis Baher (WR/Falconer-Cass. Valley-Maple Grove): He scored three touchdowns and ran for 143 yards on 19 attempts. He caught three passes for 86 yards and a TD. He made five tackles on defense.

Jahyden Clark (WR/Canisius): He caught eight passes for 124 yards and a touchdown. He returned a punt 52 yards for another touchdown. He contributed five tackles for the defense.

Tyrone Clark Jr. (RB/Lackawanna): Carrying the ball 17 times, he gained 287 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Christian Earnst (RB/North Tonawanda): He ran the ball 23 times, gained 256 yards and scored four touchdowns. He also intercepted a pass on defense.

John Gang (WR/Lancaster): He caught 10 passes for 136 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw a 54-yard touchdown pass.

Devin Hewes (WR/Chaut. Lac-Westfield-Brocton): He caught eight passes and scored three touchdowns. He also intercepted one pass.

Alex Krupa (QB/Lancaster): He completed 28 of 34 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns.

E’Ryan Lawrence (WR/Bennett): With four receptions, he gained 115 yards and scored a touchdown. Defensively, he had an interception, broke up two passes and made five tackles, including one for a loss of yards.

Joe Mest (QB/Olean): He completed 12 of 20 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns. He had 122 kick/punt return yards and a touchdown.

Silas Nellis (WR/Eden-North Collins): He caught 11 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns.

Adam Nunes (right back/South Park): He had the best individual game in New York State high school football history. With 26 rushing attempts, he set a state record for 593 yards. Averaging 22.8 yards per carry, he ran for seven touchdowns. On defense, he intercepted one pass and made seven tackles.

Sam Platt (TE/Pioneer): He scored two touchdowns and gained 115 yards on three receptions. On defense, he had seven tackles, including three for loss of yards. He also tackled the quarterback twice and forced a fumble.

Michael Sole (RB/Grand Island): He gained 124 yards and scored two touchdowns on 16 carries. He made two tackles on defense.

DJ Szata (QB/Cat. Little Valley): He completed 6 of 10 passes and threw two touchdowns. He ran the ball 13 times for 130 yards and four TDs. He also had two 2-point conversions.

Bryce Tubin (QB/Clarence): He completed 87.5 percent of his pass attempts, going 16 of 18 for 403 yards and six touchdowns.
