She then said: “My son is seven months old and I’ve never announced his name on here so I thought I’d make a little announcement video.

“His name is… Grizzly Odell.”

The influencer then added: “So Grizzly is his first name, Odell is his middle name.

“And we love it.”

The TikTok clip, posted under the username @chloesapic, has clearly left many people speechless, as it was shared only six days ago but has quickly racked up 291,400 views.

But social media users were divided by the unique name: while some “loved” it, others thought it was the “worst” nickname they’d ever heard.

One person said: “That’s a really cool name!! My first son is named Rukus (like “to cause trouble”).”

Another added: “I like the name, it’s very different.”

A third commented: “I love it!”

While someone else smiled: “I LOVE that name. But I like unique names.”

The meaning of the name Grizzly Odell

So what does his son’s name really mean?

Grizzly: The name “Grizzly” is often associated with the grizzly bear, a large species of brown bear found in North America.

The term “grizzly” can conjure up images of strength, ruggedness, and fearsome presence.

Figuratively, it suggests someone resilient, powerful and perhaps a little intimidating.

Odell: The name “Odell” is of Old English origin and means “woad hill” or “rich”.

Woad is a plant historically used to produce a blue dye, and hills often symbolize stability and preeminence.

Therefore, “Odell” can imply a sense of prosperity and a solid foundation.

Combined meaning: When combined, the name “Grizzly Odell” could be interpreted to symbolize a person who embodies both strength and stability, someone who is resilient and commands respect, yet grounded and thriving.

However, at the same time, not everyone was so complimentary about the little one’s nickname.

One user criticized: “Don’t destroy his life, it’s unfair.”

May God help him in school and in adulthood. Poor child.

The difficulty of choosing a baby name

CHLOE Morgan, Senior Editor at Fabulous, has revealed her dilemma over choosing a name for her baby…

At 35 weeks pregnant, the hardest part of my pregnancy in the last few months (not counting the insomnia and countless nighttime pee breaks!) has been choosing a name for my baby.

The dilemmas are endless…

My partner and I went for a private ultrasound to find out the gender as early as possible – partly because we thought it would make choosing a name for the baby a lot easier, as we would only have to list names for one gender rather than two.

How wrong we were…

I was absolutely thrilled to find out I was expecting the little girl I had dreamed of, but as one of the last of my friends to get pregnant, I’ve had countless conversations over the years with excited friends discussing their favorite baby names… something I wish I could turn back time and never hear again.

With every friend mentioning at least 10 possible nicknames, I can’t help but think that several are now off limits, even though I know it’s something they wouldn’t mind in the slightest – it’s a total turn-off for me!

The debate keeps coming up on social media forums: can you choose the same name that was a “potential” one for a friend’s baby?

This is a very controversial topic and opinions are always divided… and I don’t want to be THAT person.

While some will say there are thousands of other names to choose from, others will say you should choose YOUR favorite…after all, there’s no guarantee that person will have another baby.

Then there’s also the problem of finding a name you love… only to search for it online and read one negative review among hundreds of positive ones that you just can’t get over.

I made the exact same mistake when I fell in love with a certain name (I won’t reveal it because I don’t want to ruin it for others!)… only to have someone point out that it constantly autocorrects on a phone to something quite rude instead.

So we went back to the drawing board.

With only five weeks left, it looks like our little one will be known as “baby girl” for a little while longer!

And another sighed: “May God help him in school and in adulthood. Poor child.”

Meanwhile, others were eager to highlight their children’s unique names.

One mother confessed: “I love unique names, my son’s name is Knoxlar.”

While a second chimed in: “My son’s name is Onyx, I love unique names.”
