Sky Bet Odds | Power of paddy | Betfair

I repaired the pond Monday morning, then headed out for a two-night long fishing session. It’s quite fitting that I spend the beginning of the week around the water after the column spent the weekend walking it.

Vini Souza’s card at 5/1 meant that the six points staked on Saturday were returned to make a nice profit of 0 pts. The previous weekend we finished slightly down, as was the case before, so we’ll be looking to round out a painfully average September here.

The usual suspects feature here and why not? Their prices hold. What am I going to do? Do you accept that I am wrong, that the bookmakers are right and that their prices are correct? No chance.

It’s time to squat and stand your ground. We will be right any day now.

This edition of the column is particularly focused on the cards, diving into Friday and Saturday’s EFL matches where there is a nice mix of obliging referees and cynical players.

As always, there’s also an opportunity for generational wealth at the bottom of the ladder in the form of a Trixie red card at 47,395 players to 1.

Portsmouth v Sheffield United

Talk about a perfect storm for cards.

Sheffield United’s trip to Fratton Park really got it all.

Two cynical teams, a happy referee and great prices.

Portsmouth has the most bookings in the world Sky Bet Championship (23) and the Blades rank sixth (16).

The official, Matt Donohue, should also be quite obliging given he has given out 6.50 per game in four appearances in the Second Division this season.

Most recently he oversaw Preston’s clash with Blackburn and although it was a nail-biting match (get it?), Donohue certainly played his part in a Lancashire Derby, which saw nine yellow cards and two red cards.

This isn’t a ‘hot streak’ for him, this is a referee who has averaged over four cards per game over 140 league games.

For visitors, SYDIE PECK price TO BE PRESENTED A CARD is what stands out.

The 20 year old replaced injured captain Ollie Arblaster in the middle of the park and immediately stuck with the S2 faithful with his all-action style.

Even though he is neat on the ball, it is his defensive aggressiveness and his passionate antics that interest us here.

In the League Cup, where he played the majority of his minutes this season (180), Peck averaged 2.5 tackles and two fouls per game. He played 90 minutes against Derby last weekend and made three tackles, committed two fouls and took X (Twitter) after the game to post a cryptic gif but I guess it’s some kind of house.

His career is in its infancy but with three cards to his name in 11 starts (cards p90 0.30), the 3/1 on Saturday is worth a punt.

Given the other circumstances, it would be rude not to throw a few arrows at the card market here.

Combining Peck with Pompey midfielder ANDRE DOZZELL in double also seduces.

Dozzell has two cards already this season and should be keen to get one against the Blades given he had a long trial at the club in the summer only to fail.

If you want to be really indulgent, why not add GUSTAVO HAMER in a triple.

THE Blades’ star man already has three cautions this season, giving him a total of 27 in 87 championship appearances.

Barnsley v Stockport

Basically, JOSH COMTE plays at left back this season.

This isn’t uncharted territory for the defender, but it makes him more likely to be booked.

He already has four cards under his belt this season (7 apps), meaning he is just two cautions away from matching last season’s total.

Earl has a card average per 90 of 0.31, making this a rare opportunity to back a League One player. TO BE PRESENTED A CARD must be taken here given the presence of television cameras.

Once again we have a very supportive referee. Declan Bourne has dealt 31 cards in seven games this season and six in his only League One appearance.

Bourne isn’t afraid to show a red either, the two handed out this season taking him to six in 40 League One appearances.

Considering Earl has six career red cards across eight domestic seasons, the rare opportunity to back him TO SEND must be taken, especially since two of these reds arrived last season.

Rinse and repeat

There are a lot of bets that I don’t think are worth giving up, but I’m tired of writing about them every week, so I made them their own little section, no explanation. is necessary, although if you want one, there are plenty here, here and here. .

  • Ben Wiles, anytime goalscorer at Reading v Huddersfield (12:30) at 11/2 (bet365)
  • Ben Wiles 2+ goals at 50/1 (pari365)
  • Hannibal first card at Oxford vs Burnley (3:00 p.m.) at 9/1 (bet365)
  • Louie Barry to score from outside the box Barnsley vs Stockport (19:45) at 16/1 (pari365)
  • Donovan Pines to score anytime Barnsley v Stockport (19:45) at 12/1 (Sky Bet)

Already recommended

1 point Adam Forshaw will be carded at Plymouth vs Luton (19:45) at 17/4 (bet365)

Plymouth v Luton

What happened to ADAM FORSHAW since he moved to Devon?

In just 19 appearances for Plymouth, the midfielder has collected eight yellow cards (two yellows and one red in a single match for clarity), which, hilariously, represents a cards per 90 average of 0.77 .

Compare that to his previous three seasons for Norwich and Leeds where he made 40 appearances and collected just five cards. There must be something in the water there.

As of 4/15, the price TO BE PRESENTED A CARD It’s worth taking regardless, but when his direct opponent and the referee are taken into account, the value seems even better.

He will be responsible for containing Tahith Chong, the second most fouling player in the division.

John Busby is the referee, a favorable choice averaging just under five cards per game this season.
