Meet the Yuma County Treasurer Candidates

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Two candidates are running for Yuma County Treasurer, including the current incumbent.

Yuma County reporter Angela Pancrazi Moreno is running to keep her seat, but there is one Republican candidate, David Alexandre, looking to win her seat.

Yuma native Angela Pancrazi Moreno is the current Yuma County Treasurer.

She says her experience as an investment director, board member of the Arizona Association of Counties and also board treasurer of the National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers, and Finance Officers l prepared for this position.

“As chief investment officer, I have generated millions of dollars of investment for the county, which helps ease the burden on taxpayers while increasing the service provided by the county,” Pancrazi Moreno said.

Meanwhile, Republican candidate David Alexandre is a blue-collar worker born in Yuma who says he is prepared for the role with his financial experience working with municipal contracts.

He says he also worked on multimillion-dollar contracts with the state of Arizona.

“People pay taxes. They want to know where their money is going. They want to make sure it’s secure. When they do, they want their questions answered. I want to make sure all staff are properly trained. They have all the necessary tools to answer questions from the public,” said David Alexandre.

They both share what they would accomplish in this position.

“I would like to continue to protect our tax dollars, be transparent and remain actively involved in the community representing Yuma County at the state and national level,” Angela Pancrazi Moreno

“I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel. I’m just going to give it a new dimension. Start the wheel. There is a younger generation buying houses and paying taxes. They have no idea what’s going on. I want to be able to give that advice, make sure staff have all the tools they need. I want everyone to be happy and continue to drive the future,” said David Alexandre.
