Semi-trailer catches fire, blocks traffic on I-65 South

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A tractor-trailer caught fire on I-65 between Jefferson Street and Kennedy Bridge. Southbound lanes will be blocked while LMPD, EMS and Louisville Fire work to clear the crash.

An LMPD spokesperson said access to I-64 East and I-71 North from I-65 South will be open “soon,” although southbound traffic will remain closed.

This accident occurred shortly after another accident involving a semi-rollover near the same area.
