Slough Police launch murder investigation after pensioner dies following attack

Slough Police have launched a murder investigation into the death of a pensioner who was attacked earlier this week.

The victim, an 82-year-old man from Slough, died this morning after being attacked in Stoke Road on Tuesday (September 24).

Police previously said he was in “critical condition” in hospital.

Two teenagers from Slough, aged 15 and 16, were arrested in connection with the incident. Both men were released on bail.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the attack to contact them.

Detective Inspector Nick Hind, of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “Firstly, my thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“We believe this is an isolated incident and there is no greater risk to the public.

“If you witnessed the incident, have any information about what happened or have any CCTV or dash cam footage which could help our investigation, please call 101 or make a report via the Thames Valley Police website, quoting reference 43240460762.

The victim’s relatives have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Formal identification has not yet taken place.
