Aaron Rodgers and the Jets upset at home

Aaron Rodgers and the Jets upset at home

play

The Broncos have done it again.

A week after dominating the Buccaneers, 26-7, in Tampa Bay, Denver traveled to East Rutherford and pulled off a huge 10-9 upset of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

The Jets had 10 days off to prepare and still looked a little rusty on offense during a rainy game at Meadowlands on Sunday afternoon.

Following this dramatic loss, Gang Green now travel across the pond to take on the undefeated Minnesota Vikings from London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Week 5.

Here are our live updates and analysis throughout Sunday’s game from MetLife Stadium:

A week after their best performance of the young season, this was clearly Gang Green’s worst overall performance.

Yes, the elements made this game nearly impossible for the majority of four quarters to consistently move the ball through the air.

However, there were still too many times in the second half, when the rain slowed, that quarterback Aaron Rodgers was off target or clearly not on the same page with his receivers.

After recording a negative seven passing yards at halftime, it was clear that Broncos QB Bo Nix only got more comfortable as the game progressed, especially with their play on the ground in the second half.

The biggest concern from this brutal loss for the Jets is Rodgers’ health.

At the end of the fourth quarter, the Gang Green signal-caller was tackled from behind by Broncos defensive tackle Malcolm Roach, who landed on his left leg, the same, he suffered a torn Achilles tendon last September.

It was clear that the tackle affected Rodgers in the final four minutes of the game that followed, as he clearly appeared uncomfortable and limping.

The status of the four-time NFL MVP will need to be closely monitored throughout the week, especially as the team flies to London in the coming days for its game in London, England next weekend against the very impressive Minnesota Vikings.

Denver is back in front as they run the ball efficiently eight straight times to take a slim one-point lead.

If the Broncos can hold on, it will be a second week in a row that they pull off the upset as one of the week’s biggest underdogs.

Gang Green regains the lead with kicker Greg Zuerlein scoring his third field goal of the afternoon.

It’s another what-if for the Jets, as they failed to find the end zone against this stout Denver defense.

Denver is finally on the board as they put together the best drive of any team so far today.

The highlight of the practice was the connection between QB Bo Nix and WR Courtland Sutton.

The duo combined for a 29-yard gain on third-and-11 deep in their own territory and for the game-opening touchdown from eight yards out.

It was the first passing touchdown of the career for Nix, who was selected 12th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Phew, that was a tough first half to watch.

With constant rain and two good defenses going head to head, it was an offensive nightmare for both teams in the first half.

Before Aaron Rodgers made some big passes to wide receivers Allen Lazard and Mike Williams, this game was on pace to record the fewest combined first-half yards in 33 years.

Broncos quarterback Bo Nix threw seven passes for a terrible negative seven yards in the locker room.

Gang Green extends their lead to 6-0 as the clock rings triple zeros to end the first half.

The Jets had a chance to make it a two-score game, but former defensive end John Franklin-Meyers – who was traded to Denver in the offseason – pulled off a huge seven-yard sack of Rodgers to force Rodgers on third and everything in between. shooting chance for a touchdown.

The Jets finally get on the board to break the scoreless tie.

Broncos running back Tyler Badie fumbled the ball and Gang Green recovered at the Denver 41-yard line.

The Denver running back also remained on the field and ultimately on the sideline before being placed on a blue board and was ultimately transported to the locker room with a back injury and his return is questionable, according to the CBS show.

Even though they had the ball on the one-yard line, the Jets couldn’t punch it. As they lined up to attempt fourth-and-goal, another false start penalty moved the ball to the six-yard line where kicker Greg Zuerlein made the short 23-yard field goal.

The Jets were set up with excellent field position after WR Allen Lazard made a defensive pass interference call in the end zone to put the ball on the one-yard line.

Just like the weather, the start was sloppy for both teams.

After the Broncos run the ball to the one yard line, Gang Green doesn’t gain a single yard and goes for three.

Penalties continue to be a problem for the Jets, as they have committed back-to-back infractions to force a punt from their own end zone.

It’s a disastrous start for Gang Green, as quarterback Aaron Rodgers is sacked on the first play and turns the ball over on 3rd and 18 as WR Garrett Wilson fumbles with the Broncos recovering the ball at the Jets 30 yard line .

The Jets defense is important as two penalties and a tackle for loss on third and long put Denver out of field goal range to keep this game scoreless.

NY Jets vs. Broncos Prediction

The choice: Jets 24, Broncos 10

Here’s why: The Jets crushed the Patriots last Thursday night, failing to allow a touchdown to an opponent for the first time since they played in New England last season. The Broncos will undoubtedly present a tougher challenge, but Aaron Rodgers and Co. still win this one rather convincingly heading into their matchup in London against the undefeated Minnesota Vikings in Week 5.
